Laura Egeln, Ph.D. is a professor in the College of Business. She has more than 10 years of industry experience at Liz Claiborne, Inc. and Welcome Home where she held positions such as marketing manager and merchandiser and was a member of the elite executive training program at Liz Claiborne, Inc.
Egeln also has more than 15 years of faculty and academic administration experience and leads the Fashion Merchandising & Retailing major at the Charlotte Campus. Research areas of interest include consumer behavior in the apparel industry, online retailing and baby boomer consumer behavior in the online channel. Her research has been published in the Atlantic Marketing Journal and she has presented at the International Textile and Apparel Association annual conference, the American Collegiate Retailing Association/American Marketing Association conference, the Atlantic Marketing Association conference, the Southern Textile Association summer marketing forum and the Lily conference on education.
Egeln received degrees from Purdue University, the Fashion Institute of Technology, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
