The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Center for Teaching and Learning is a vital resource to support faculty professional development. The Center promotes excellence in teaching and learning and improves efficiencies across interrelated functional areas and academics through expanded services and programming for all faculty and staff members. Training and other resources sponsored through the Center aim to improve student academic performance and retention.
The mission of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø & Wales University Center for Teaching & Learning is to foster a community of lifelong learners and enhance the student experience by inspiring innovative research, scholarship, collaboration, and impactful facilitation of learning.

Looking for specialized assistance in your field? We will connect you with experienced colleagues in your department for specialized services. Need advice regarding publishing? We can help you find the best fit with local and national publication venues.
Planning to present at a conference? We can help you organize your presentation slides; ensure that your slides are error-free and that your bullet points are in parallel format; offer suggestions for effectively opening and closing your presentation; and serve as a practice audience. Teaching Consultations
The CTL offers confidential teaching consultations and/or observations for those interested in improving their classroom delivery methods, revising assessments or handling challenging situations. Please email CTL@jwu.edu to make an appointment.
Research Consultations
Research consultants are available in most disciplines to assist you with establishing a research question, qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods data collection and analysis, literature reviews and dissemination. Please email CTL@jwu.edu to inquire.
Peer Teaching Observation Program
Interested in learning more about your colleages' teaching strategies? Would you like to pair up with another faculty member to discuss lesson design and delivery? We can put you in contact with other faculty members interested in this practice, help you set teaching goals and hold each other accountable. Please email CTL@jwu.edu to be put on the list for this program which will begin in Spring 2025.

Created from the merging of the former Faculty Scholarship Showcase and the Transformative Approaches Expo, the redesigned Expo provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to disseminate research and/or to share their unique and innovative practices with the university community.
